Plas Newydd (not to be confused with the house of the same name at Llangollen), is the family home of the Marquis of Anglesey. The house is an elegant 18th century mansion designed by James Wyatt in a mix of Classical and Gothic styles, built around a 14th century hall.

The house contains Rex Whistler’s largest painting, measuring 58 by 12 feet (17.7 by 3.7 m). The 7th Marquess of Anglesey retained rooms at the house until his death in July 2013. Lady Rose McLaren grew up at the house along with the 7th Marquess – her brother. The 8th Marquess no longer lives at the house.

Where can my dog go? Plas Newydd pooches will be free to visit almost all areas of our gardens and grounds, including the areas outside the mansion and previously restricted areas such as the Rhododendron Garden and Camelia Dell.
