Is Christ Church Oxford open to visitors?
We are carefully managing the number of visitors entering Christ Church. All visitors must book a ticket online and in advance. Tickets will be released on a weekly basis.
Are visitors allowed in Oxford colleges?
Oxford is not a campus university, so it is not all located on one site. Many University buildings, such as gardens, libraries and museums, as well as many of the colleges, are open to visitors during the day, although please note that they may have varying opening hours, fees and rules for groups.
Is Christ Church Cathedral open to public?
Our services are now open to worshippers in person. Ticketing is no longer required; however, we would encourage you to continue to wear face-coverings in the Cathedral and to sit apart from people with whom you didn’t arrive as a courtesy to others.

People have been visiting this medieval church for over 800 years, ever since local pilgrims came here to pray at the shrine of St Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford. In recent years, visitors have arrived from all over the world. All tickets will need to be booked online in advance.

Can you walk around colleges in Oxford?
In the colleges, visitors can usually explore the college quad and gardens, as well as the chapel. Some colleges also open their dining hall to visitors, such as Wadham College and Christ Church, whose grand hall was the setting for Hogwarts’ Great Hall in the Harry Potter films.
